Bringing REAL broadcasting to Siskiyou County
Siskiyou Broadcast Group is the newest broadcast entity based in Mount Shasta, California. SBG is the first fully internet-based broadcasting service bring you the finest in internet radio and television. SBG Radio operates KWSD Internet Radio 1340 (currently on-air) and SBG Television (formerly Action Video Entertainment) operates KSQU Internet TV Channel 8Y (coming soon).
Our Story
Siskiyou Broadcast Group began as Action Video Entertainment (originally founded by Bill Janis, John Googins and John McCarthy, now operating as SBG Television), a video production service providing videos for local origination television, actual broadcast television and home video. Since 1992, AVE provided the finest video production including local high school and junior college sporting events, which became priority for AVE until 2019. After a few years of dormancy, SBG was founded by longtime Siskiyou County resident, College of the Siskiyous graduate and local broadcast pioneer Mike Summers, whose experience includes radio and TV stops at the original KWSD-AM/KEDY-FM and KWHO-FM Radio, KRCR-TV in Redding, KCVU-TV and KRVU-TV in Chico and KGEC-TV in Redding in various capacities.

AVE was rechristened Siskiyou Broadcast Group in 2023 and its first station, KWSD Internet Radio 1340, officially hit the air on July 23, 2025. The "new" KWSD has absorbed the history of the original station that ran from 1947 to 1995 under the Rees family-owned Shasta Cascade Broadcasting Corporation and joins internet station Siskiyou Country Radio (based in Yreka) and KZRO-FM z100.1 (based in Dunsmuir/Mount Shasta, the very first and only active terrestrial station in Siskiyou County streaming online) broadcasting radio online.

Coming soon, SBG Television will launch KSQU Internet Television Channel 8Y, Siskiyou County's first REAL television station... no local origination, no public access, no corporate media. We will keep you posted on those details.
